With John Wall out of the lineup, Andray Blatche had a Wall-like first half and Gilbert Arenas heated up in a decisive third quarter to lead the Washington Wizards to a 109-94 victory over the visiting Toronto Raptors on Tuesday.
Nick Young scored 14 of his 20 points in the first half and Kirk Hinrich moved over to the point and recorded 13 points and 12 assists as Wall - Washington's scintillating rookie - sat with a sprained left ankle suffered Saturday against Chicago.
Blatche had 13 points on 6-of-8 shooting with four rebounds, three assists and three steals as the Wizards took a 54-47 lead at the half.
Blatche scored five quick points and Arenas added a trio of 3-pointers among 11 points in the first seven minutes of the third period. Hinrich had seven points and five assists during the 12-minute blitz that provided Washington a 91-65 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
Blatche finished with 22 points on 9-of-13 shooting and Arenas had 20 with seven rebounds and six assists. Arenas, who started for Wall, had 30 points and seven 3-pointers against Chicago in his fifth game back from a leg injury.
Sonny Weems had 14 of his 16 points in the first half and Linas Kleiza returned from an Achilles injury to score 15 for the weary Raptors, who complete their second four-game road trip of the season Wednesday at Philadelphia before returning home for seven of their next eight games.
