Enrique Hernandez scored in the 10th inning on a two-out throwing error by Padres shortstop Luis Urias, leading the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 6-4 victory at San Diego on Wednesday in the rubber match of a three-game series.

Hernandez drew a two-out walk from Padres closer Kirby Yates (0-5) and stole second.

Russell Martin then hit a one-hop rocket to Urias, who made a nice stop on the ball. However, the throw to first sailed over the head of Eric Hosmer, allowing Hernandez to race home. The error was the rookie infielder's fifth in the past eight games.

The Dodgers scored a second unearned run in the inning when Martin came around on singles by Will Smith and A.J. Pollock against Yates.

The Padres had tied the game in the bottom of the ninth on a wild pitch by Kenley Jansen (4-3). The Dodgers closer blew a seventh save in 34 chances but got the win.

Casey Sadler, the Dodgers' seventh pitcher, pitched around a single in the bottom of the 10th to record his first career save.

Pinch hitter Francisco Mejia opened the San Diego ninth by dropping a double into short left in front of the charging Chris Taylor. Mejia moved to third on Urias' fly to right and scored when Jansen uncorked his second wild pitch of the season.

That cost Dodgers starter Kenta Maeda a victory and a game-winning hit.

Maeda held the Padres to two runs on two hits over five innings and hit a two-run single. He issued three walks, struck out three and retired 12 of the last 14 Padres he faced after spotting San Diego a two-run lead in the first.

Maeda opened the game by walking lead-off hitter Greg Garcia and Manny Machado around a ground out. Garcia scored on a single by Eric Hosmer and Machado scored on a sacrifice fly by Hunter Renfroe.

The lead was short-lived as the Dodgers scored three runs in the second off Padres opener Trey Wingenter, who was making his first start in his 212th professional appearance, 69 of them in the major leagues.

Wingenter (1-4) pitched 1 1/3 innings, giving up three runs on one hit, two walks and two strikeouts. The Padres used a total of eight pitchers.

Dodgers infielder Max Muncy left the game with a right wrist contusion after being hit by a Matt Strahm pitch in the fifth inning.
