Angels 9, Astros 1: C.J. Wilson struck out seven in eight dominant innings to help visiting Los Angeles take three of four from Houston.

Howie Kendrick and Raul Ibanez knocked in three runs apiece and Kole Calhoun slugged his second home run for the Angels, who outscored the Astros 29-10 in the series. Wilson (1-1) took a shutout into the eighth and settled for one run on four hits to rebound from a rough outing Tuesday against Seattle.

Jarred Cosart (1-1), who blanked the New York Yankees over five innings in his first start, allowed only three hits in six innings but walked four and was charged with five runs. Carlos Corporan provided all the offense for the Astros with a solo homer with two outs in the eighth.

Calhoun walked to lead off the game and scored on Ibanez's grounder to first before Kendrick knocked in a pair to make it 3-0. Wilson retired the side in order in the first, third and fourth innings before Calhoun started the fifth with a shot to right for a 4-0 lead.

Ibanez added a two-run base hit before Kendrick's run-scoring single in the seventh as Los Angeles pushed the margin to 8-0. Wilson retired 10 straight before Corporan's blast and threw 120 pitches in winning his 10th straight road decision.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Astros CF Dexter Fowler missed his fourth straight game while recovering from gastroenteritis and it is unclear if he will play in the upcoming series in Toronto. ... Wilson is 6-3 with a 2.78 ERA in 19 career games against Houston. ... Calhoun also drew a pair of walks and scored three times while DH Josh Hamilton had a hit, three walks and scored twice for the Angels.
