Diamondbacks 2, Padres 1 (12): Didi Gregorius laced a tiebreaking RBI triple in the 12th inning to lift visiting Arizona past San Diego.
The Diamondbacks lost a 1-0 lead in the eighth inning when reliever David Hernandez loaded the bases with two outs before a passed ball allowed Reymond Fuentes to score and force extra frames. Rookie Chris Owings doubled with one out in the 12th off Luke Gregerson (6-8) and Gregorius followed with a shot past diving first baseman Kyle Blanks and down line.
The rally made a winner of Josh Collmenter (5-4), who struck out two in a perfect 11th inning. Brad Ziegler got the last three outs for his 12th save.
Arizona starter Wade Miley tossed six scoreless innings and Paul Goldschmidt launched his NL-best 36th homer in the sixth to give the visitors the one-run lead. Tyson Ross served up the Goldschmidt blast but little else in eight solid frames, striking out six.
Martin Prado was the only player on either side with two hits as the Diamondbacks snapped a five-game skid in San Diego.
GAME NOTEBOOK: The Diamondbacks are 17-7 in extra-inning affairs, including 11-4 on the road. ... Ross recorded his sixth career hit with a single in the fifth. ... Padres LF Jesus Guzman went 0-for-5 with three strikeouts.
