Cliff Lee returned to Philadelphia with a flourish, striking out 11 to lead the Phillies to a 9-4 victory over the visiting Houston Astros on Saturday night.

Lee (1-0) couldn't handle Carlos Lee but he mowed down the rest of Houston's lineup, allowing three runs on four hits in seven innings.

The left-hander, who signed a five-year, $120 million deal in the offseason, got plenty of support as his teammates battered Astros starter Wandy Rodriguez (0-1) for seven runs on nine hits in four-plus innings.

Raul Ibanez and Ben Francisco each had two hits and two RBIs, and Shane Victorino delivered a two-run single as the Phillies built a 7-1 lead through four innings.

Cliff Lee's only mistakes came against Carlos Lee, who had three hits and four RBIs, including a run-scoring triple and two-run home run. Angel Sanchez also had two hits and scored three times for Houston.

Placido Polanco had three hits and Ryan Howard and Jimmy Rollins two apiece for Philadelphia, which got RBI hits from Carlos Ruiz, Wilson Valdez and Howard.
