Ernie Clement drove in three runs and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. reached base four times as the visiting Toronto Blue Jays knocked off the New York Yankees 8-5 on Friday night.

The start of the game was delayed by rain for 86 minutes, and then the Blue Jays overcame Aaron Judge's major-league-leading 40th homer. Toronto never trailed and drove New York starter Marcus Stroman (7-6) out of the game in the third inning.

Guerrero extended his hitting streak to 15 games with an RBI single in the first inning, and Clement added a two-run double for a 3-0 lead.

Clement contributed an infield RBI single during a four-run third. Spencer Horwitz drove in the first run of that inning with a single, and Brian Serven later delivered a two-run single against reliever Michael Tonkin, just after Stroman was chased.

Horwitz also had an RBI single in the sixth, but the inning ended when Guerrero was thrown out at third by Juan Soto.

Judge hit a two-run homer off Kevin Gausman in the first to reach 40 for the third time in his career. At 477 feet, it was the third longest of his career.

Anthony Volpe had three hits, including a two-run homer in the fifth, but the Yankees saw their five-game winning streak snapped.

Volpe also had a double in the second, but the inning ended when Gleyber Torres was thrown out at the plate trying to score from first. Torres was on first instead of second because he did not run hard out of the batter's box after lashing a hit off he left field wall. He was pulled following the third inning.

Gausman allowed five runs (four earned) on eight hits and three walks in 4 2/3 innings. He struck out two, and Judge homered for the sixth time against him -- the most any pitcher has surrendered to the slugger.

Four relievers followed Gausman, who was coming off his second complete game of the season. Brendon Little (1-1) stranded two in the sixth to protect a three-run lead and pitched 1 2/3 innings to earn the win.

Former Yankee Chad Green earned his eighth save in as many opportunities by striking out the side in the ninth. He got called third strikes on Soto and Judge to end the game.

Stroman was rocked for seven runs on eight hits in 2 2/3 innings. He fanned three and walked one.
