Le'Bryan Nash scored 17 points, Anthony Hickey had 15 and Forte added 14 on 3-of-13 shooting for Oklahoma State (15-7, 5-5 Big 12), which escaped with its sixth win its last seven meetings against the Longhorns when Isaiah Taylor’s long 3-pointer missed the mark at the buzzer. The Cowboys led by as many as 15 in the opening period before Texas rallied after the break.

Taylor paced Texas (14-8, 3-6) with 18 points while Demarcus Holland added 14 on 4-of-4 shooting from 3-point range and Cameron Ridley collected 12 points, five rebounds and three blocks. Connor Lammert grabbed a game-high nine rebounds for the Longhorns, who committed 18 turnovers and have trailed by double figures at the half in three straight games.

Oklahoma State, which won for the first time in five league games away from Gallagher-Iba Arena, held a 35-24 advantage at the break and extended the lead to 12 on Hickey’s 3-pointer with just under 16 minutes left. Texas answered with seven straight points and later cut the deficit to 50-46 on Holland’s 3-pointer with five minutes remaining.

Taylor tied the game at 56 with six straight points but missed the front end of a one-and-one opportunity at the foul line with 3.2 seconds left in regulation. Ridley converted two foul shots to begin the extra period and give the Longhorns their first lead since 1-0, but Nash answered with six straight points and Forte clinched the win at the foul line.
