No. 18 Maryland 73, Oklahoma State 64: Jake Layman posted 21 points and 11 rebounds as the Terrapins won their first true road game of the season over the Cowboys.

Melo Trimble supplied 15 points, four rebounds and four assists and Jared Nickens added 11 points and both he and Layman made three 3-pointers for Maryland (11-1). Evan Smotrycz chipped in eight points and four rebounds for the Terrapins, who made 10-of-26 from beyond the arc and 15-of-18 at the line.

Le'Bryan Nash registered 17 points on 7-of-14 shooting and snared nine rebounds for Oklahoma State (9-2). Anthony Hickey Jr. posted 16 points, including four 3-pointers, and Phil Forte III had 13 points and three triples for the Cowboys, who lost at home for the first time this season.

Five different players hit 3-pointers, including Nickens and Layman in the opening two minutes, as Maryland led for most of the first half. A triple by Nash gave the Cowboys their first lead at 16-13 with 8:05 left, but the Terrapins closed the half on a 13-7 run to a secure a 32-27 advantage.

The Terrapins pushed their lead to 17 points as Nickens scored eight points in the first four minutes of the second half, and the Cowboys never recovered. Hickey made three 3-pointers in the final five minutes to bring Oklahoma State within 67-61 with 55 seconds remaining, and the Cowboys had a chance to get closer after forcing a turnover, but Maryland made six free throws to seal the win.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Maryland finished 6-of-15 from beyond the arc and had as many 3-pointers as two-point baskets in the first half. ... The loss for Oklahoma State was just the third in a non-conference home game under head coach Travis Ford. ... Jeff Newberry had eight of the 10 bench points for Oklahoma State.
