Louisiana State 64, South Carolina 46: Johnny O'Bryant III scored a career-high 30 points to lead the visiting Tigers to their fourth win in five games.
O'Bryant was 13-for-19 from the floor and also hauled in a game-high 10 rebounds. Andre Stringer was the only other player in double figures for LSU (14-8, 5-6 SEC) with 12 points, all of which came in the second half.
Lakeem Jackson had 10 points to lead the hapless Gamecocks (12-12, 2-9), who shot 28.1 percent (18-for-64) in losing their fifth straight.
A sluggish first half saw the teams combine to shoot 31.7 percent and commit 20 turnovers with just nine assists. The Tigers survived with a 26-24 lead and then began the second half with a 13-5 run.
O'Bryant had a three-point play to make it 42-32 with 12:56 left and Stringer nailed a 3-pointer with 8:21 to go as the Tigers opened up a 17-point advantage. The Gamecocks, who were outrebounded 43-29, trailed by as many as 20 down the stretch.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Neither team scored until South Carolina G Damien Leonard hit a 3-pointer 3:46 into the contest. ... The Gamecocks are a dismal 5-32 in their last 37 SEC games. ... LSU G Charles Carmouche had nine rebounds, eight assists and a pair of steals off the bench.
