Duquesne 60, West Virginia 56: Jeremiah Jones had a team-high 16 points and Derrick Colter chipped in 12 points and seven assists as the host Dukes overcame an early 15-point deficit to stun the Mountaineers.
Marvin Binney added 10 points off the bench for Duquesne (6-4), which has won five of its last six.
Juwan Staten scored 10 of his team-high 13 points in the first half for West Virginia (4-4), which saw its three-game winning streak come to an end. The Mountaineers made just 9 of 32 shots in the second half.
Colter snapped a 53-53 tie with a pair of layups before the Dukes extended their cushion to six. Matt Humphrey's 3-pointer with 16 seconds remaining cut the Mountaineers deficit in half, but they were unable tot pull any closer.
Gary Browne drilled a pair of 3-pointers and amassed 10 quick points as West Virginia bolted out to a 25-10 lead. After Duquesne countered with an 11-2 run, Staten and Jabarie Hinds answered with four points apiece to push the Mountaineers' advantage to 36-23 at the half.
GAME NOTEBOOK: West Virginia coach Bob Huggins wasn't pleased with his team's 38.2 percent shooting in the first half. When asked what he wants his team to do differently in the second half, Huggins bluntly said to "Try to make a shot once in a while." ... After being fired in March, former Duquesne coach Ron Everhart is an assistant on Huggins' staff. ... The Dukes misfired on all eight attempts from 3-point range during the first half.
