Tim Frazier posted 20 points, 10 rebounds and six assists to propel Penn State past visiting Radford 62-46.
It was the second victory in three days for new coach Patrick Chambers, whose Nittany Lions (2-0) dispatched Hartford 70-55 at home on Saturday.
Frazier, Penn State's only returning player among its top five scorers from last season, had contributed 16 points against the Hawks and nearly equaled it in the first half Monday night.
The junior guard netted 12 points as Penn State forged a 29-20 halftime advantage against the Highlanders (2-1), despite hitting only 1 of 9 3-pointers. A Frazier layup boosted Penn State's margin to 17, at 40-23, just 2:26 into the second half, and the Nittany Lions led by as many as 22.
No other player reached double figures for Penn State, which limited Radford to 16 of 47 field goals (34 percent) and more than doubled up the Highlanders on the boards, 35-17. Trey Lewis, who had 17 points against Hartford, added nine.
Jareal Smith tallied 11 of his team-high 16 points in the first half for the Highlanders. Radford, which won just five games last season, was coming off victories over Delaware and Division III Shenandoah in starting 2-0 for first-year coach, Mike Jones.
