Zach Remillard singled home the go-ahead run in the eighth inning on a play overturned by replay review and Elvis Andrus had three RBIs to lift the Chicago White Sox to a 7-6 win against the visiting Texas Rangers on Tuesday.
Eloy Jimenez and Andrus homered as Chicago avoided a fifth loss in six games and stopped the Rangers' winning streak at three.
Corey Seager went 3-for-4 with five RBIs and Adolis Garcia belted a solo home run among his two hits to spark Texas. Seager's two-run double in the top of the eighth gave the Rangers a 6-4 lead.
The Texas bullpen couldn't uphold the advantage, however, in a see-saw game. Andrus contributed a game-tying, two-run single off Grant Anderson in the bottom half of the eighth to set the stage for Remillard, a rookie playing his fourth career game.
Remillard singled to left fielder Travis Jankowski, whose throw beat a sliding Andrus to home plate, where Andrus was called out. Chicago challenged the play, however, and a review prompted the umpires to rule that Texas catcher Jonah Heim blocked the runner with a foot on the plate without the ball, thus allowing the run to score.
Kendall Graveman pitched a perfect ninth for his seventh save.
After yielding one home run in his first eight starts, Rangers right-hander Nathan Eovaldi has allowed seven long balls in his past seven starts.
The White Sox flexed their muscle early, as Jimenez blasted a two-run shot over the right field wall just three batters into the home half of the first.
Texas responded with runs in the fourth and fifth innings, getting a solo home run off the bat of Garcia in the fourth and an RBI double from Seager in the fifth.
Andrus connected on a fastball for a solo homer with one out in the fifth to snap a 2-all tie.
Anderson (1-1) took the loss, allowing three runs and three hits in one inning. Aaron Bummer (3-1) was the winner despite giving up Seager's two-run double on his first batter of the game in the eighth. He then struck out Josh Jung to end the inning.
Eovaldi scattered four runs and five hits in six innings with two walks and four strikeouts. White Sox counterpart Dylan Cease allowed two runs and five hits in six innings with two walks and nine strikeouts.
Jankowski and Leody Taveras had two hits apiece for Texas. Andrew Benintendi, Andrus and Remillard each had two hits for the White Sox.
