Brewers 5, Cubs 1: Jonathan Lucroy homered and right-hander Hiram Burgos won his major-league debut as host Milwaukee ran its winning streak to six games.

Burgos (1-0) held the Cubs to one run on five hits over five innings, keeping Chicago off-balance with a good mix of off-speed pitches. He allowed a leadoff single to David DeJesus, who was erased by a double play, but didn't permit another baserunner until Starlin Castro's one-out single in the fourth.

Lucroy staked the rookie to a 1-0 lead with a solo homer in the second, and the Cubs tied it in the fourth on Alfonso Soriano's RBI single.

It was tied at 1 until a rash of sloppy defensive plays did in the Cubs in the fifth and sixth innings. Soriano misplayed a Logan Schafer fly ball to lead off the fifth, and Schafer came around to score on Blake Lalli's groundout. Castro botched a routine groundball from Norichika Aoki that would have ended the inning, allowing another run to come home.

Cubs pitcher Edwin Jackson (0-3) made a throwing error that helped the Brewers tack on two more unearned runs in the sixth, and Milwaukee's bullpen took care of the rest, as three relievers combined for six strikeouts in four scoreless innings.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Castro singled in the fourth to extend his hitting streak to 12 games, the longest active streak in the National League. … The Brewers have scored first in five consecutive games. … The Cubs were 1-for-4 with runners in scoring position and are hitting a major league-worst .148 in those situations for the season.
