Andrew Jones had a season-high 22 points to lead No. 21 Texas to a 66-52 blowout of Oklahoma on Tuesday night in Austin, Texas.

After the Longhorns' loss at Oklahoma State on Saturday, coach Chris Beard said his team had been too passive.

Courtney Ramey appeared to take Beard's words to heart, blocking Elijah Harkless' shot in the game's opening minute, and then attacking the basket to make it to the free-throw line a couple minutes later.

The Longhorns hadn't attempted a first-half free throw in the last two games.

Texas (13-3, 3-1 Big 12) took control with an 11-0 run over six minutes in the first half to go ahead 17-6.

Oklahoma (12-4, 2-2) was never closer than seven the rest of the way.

The Sooners missed their first six 3-pointers, not hitting one from distance until less than three minutes remained in the first half.

Oklahoma was just 1 of 13 from behind the 3-point line, missing all five shots from beyond the arc in the second half.

Ramey, Timmy Allen and Christian Bishop scored 10 points each for the Longhorns.

Texas had an offensive drought of its own in the second half, going more than six minutes between field goals and making just one in a nine-minute span.

But the Longhorns stayed afloat, their lead cut by just five points down to 13 during the stretch, thanks to Texas' continued aggressiveness. The Longhorns hit seven free throws in that span.

Texas finished 18 of 24 from the free-throw line, season highs in both free throws made and attempted.

The Sooners came into the game averaging nearly 75 points per game and hadn't scored fewer than 57 in any game this season.

But Texas' defense made life difficult for Oklahoma.

Jones had four of the Longhorns' 11 steals.

Jalen Hill led the Sooners with 13, while Jacob Groves added 10. Tanner Groves, Oklahoma's leading scorer, was held to a season-low three, attempting just one shot from the field.
