Arkansas 73, Missouri 71: BJ Young converted two three-point plays and scored seven points over the final 29 seconds as the host Razorbacks rallied to defeat the Tigers.
Marshawn Powell scored a team-high 24 points while Young added 18 points to lead Arkansas (16-9, 7-5 SEC), which won in coach Mike Anderson’s first game against his former team.
Keion Bell finished with 25 points and grabbed eight rebounds for Missouri (18-7, 7-5), which fell to 1-6 in road contests this season.
The Razorbacks led by seven with 6:25 remaining, but nine unanswered points by the Tigers over the next 2:15 gave them a 63-61 advantage. Following an exchange of free throws and baskets, Missouri stretched the lead to 70-66 on two free throws from Bell with 34 seconds left.
Young converted his first three-point play five seconds later and, after a free throw from Jabari Brown, was able to do it again with 19 seconds remaining to give Arkansas a 72-71 lead. Missouri’s Phil Pressey committed a turnover on the next possession and Young hit another free throw before challenging Brown’s last-second 3-point attempt that sailed long.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Arkansas improved to 15-1 at home this season and is 31-4 at Bud Walton Arena under Anderson. … Bell scored at least 20 points for the fourth time in five games. … Missouri entered Saturday as the only team in Division I with six players averaging at least 10 points, but placed only two in double figures against the Razorbacks.
