Jaime Jaquez Jr. scored a career-high 30 points on 11-of-17 shooting from the floor, and No. 17-ranked UCLA rode a 26-8 run over the first 10:02 of the second half to a 77-66 win over Washington on Monday in Seattle.

The Bruins (22-6, 14-5 Pac-12) shot just 10-of-29 from the floor in the first half and went into halftime down four points. UCLA responded with renewed defensive intensity, holding Washington scoreless for the first 4:18 of the second half.

The Huskies (14-14, 9-9) shot 14-of-35 from the floor after the intermission, including 3-of-9 from 3-point range. Washington did not make a second-half 3-point attempt until Langston Wilson knocked down a pair in the final 1:24, and Dominiq Penn added a third.

The late flurry of 3-pointers helped trim a 21-point deficit to 11, but came well after the outcome was no longer in doubt.

UCLA's stout defense to begin the second half translated to scoring opportunities. The Bruins attacked the interior effectively, scoring 24 points in the paint in the second half. They finished with 34 points in the paint total.

UCLA dominated on the glass with 40 rebounds to Washington's 28. Cody Riley led the Bruins with 11 rebounds off the bench -- five offensive -- and Jaquez grabbed nine.

Jules Bernard was the only Bruin other than Jaquez to score in double figures, finishing with 12 points despite shooting 2-of-7 from the floor. Jaylen Clark scored nine points off the bench while David Singleton and Riley each chipped in seven.

The Bruins were without season-long leading scorer Johnny Juzang for a second consecutive game, the result of an ankle injury sustained Feb. 24 at Oregon.

Terrell Brown Jr. led Washington with 20 points. Jamal Bey scored 10 of his 14 points in the first half, and Wilson scored all 11 of his points off the bench in the second half.
