Alonzo Verge Jr. had 26 points on 10-of-15 shooting, including the go-ahead shot with 11.7 seconds left in Arizona State's 64-59 win Wednesday over Washington State in a Pac-12 tournament first-round game at Las Vegas.

Kimani Lawrence added 13 points for the eighth-seeded Sun Devils (11-13), who will play No. 1 seed Oregon (19-5) in a quarterfinal game Thursday.

Isaac Bonton, who missed four of his previous five games with injuries to both ankles, started and scored 19 points in 39 minutes for the Cougars.

Washington State (14-13) and Arizona State played less than two weeks ago on Feb. 27 in Tempe, Ariz., with the Sun Devils emerging with the win, 77-74 in overtime.

Wednesday's game was close throughout with 17 lead changes.

Arizona State started its late-game charge when Jaelen House converted a layup after a steal and Verge made a layup in transition following a missed jumper by Bonton to put the Sun Devils ahead 58-57 with 1:21 remaining.

Noah Williams drove to the basket with 1:11 left and his shot was goaltended by Kimani Lawrence, putting the Cougars up 59-58.

Remy Martin was fouled and he missed both free throws. He then made a steal, but his pass was mishandled by Verge for the turnover.

Holland Woods forced a jumpball on an inbound pass to Williams, giving the ball back to Arizona State with 28.6 seconds left.

Verge followed with a running one-hander in the lane to give the Sun Devils a 60-59 lead with 11.7 seconds left.

Williams tried to drive the lane but House stripped the ball from him and was fouled with one second left. After the steal by House, Washington State coach Kyle Smith threw his water bottle and was assessed a technical foul.

Verge made both technical shots and then House converted both of his shots to close the scoring.

Williams added 11 points and D.J. Rodman and Dishon Jackson each had 10 points.

Arizona State freshmen Marcus Bagley (ankle) and Josh Christopher (back) did not play. Bagley has missed nine of the last 10 games and Christopher sat out for the ninth straight game.
