Keve Aluma scored 23 points, leading the 16th-ranked Virginia Tech Hokies to an 84-46 blowout win over the visiting Wake Forest Demon Deacons in an ACC game at Blacksburg, Va.
It was the largest margin of victory ever for the Hokies against an ACC opponent.
The Hokies (15-5, 9-4 ACC), who never trailed, improved to 10-2 at home, winning their sixth straight game in its series against the Demon Deacons.
Wake Forest (6-13, 3-13) lost its fifth straight game, dropping to 1-8 on the road this season. Jonah Antonio led the Deacons with 12 points.
Virginia Tech was without Jalen Cone, who missed his second straight game due to an injury. Cone leads the Hokies with 37 made 3-pointers.
But, even without Cone, the Hokies shot 53.4 percent from the floor, including 13-of-25 on 3-pointers (52 percent).
Besides Aluma, the Hokies got 15 points from Tyrece Radford. Nahiem Alleyne added 13 points and a game-high five assists.
The Hokies honored Wabissa Bede and Cordell Pemsl on Senior Night. Bede scored five points. Pemsl, an Iowa graduate transfer and the team's only other senior, scored four points.
The Hokies improved to 5-0 following a loss this season.
Virginia Tech started the game by shooting 83.3 percent from the floor -- sinking 15-of-18 -- to take a 35-17 lead with 6:09 left in the first half.
The Hokies finished the first half on a 14-0 run, holding a 49-22 lead at halftime. The 49 points marked Tech's season high, and the Hokies also shot a season-best 67.9 percent from the floor for the opening 20 minutes.
Aluma had 14 first-half points and Radford had 12, and the Hokies duo combined to shoot 10-of-13 from the floor during that span, including 4-for-4 on 3-pointers.
Wake Forest, meanwhile, shot just 32 percent in the first half.
The second half was more of the same as Wake Forest struggled offensively and defensively.
For the game, the Deacons shot 27.3 percent from the floor, including 10-for-32 on 3-pointers (31.3 percent).
