Kentucky's Davion Mintz hit a game-winning 3-pointer with 47.9 seconds left, lifting the Wildcats to a 77-74 win over visiting Vanderbilt at Lexington, Ky., on Tuesday evening.

Kentucky's Devin Askew drew a double team as he penetrated the lane and kicked to Mintz, who connected on a 3 from the left corner. The Wildcats survived after Vanderbilt missed a pair of 3-pointers in the final six seconds.

Olivier Sarr led Kentucky (3-6, 2-0 Southeastern Conference) in scoring with 24, canning 14 of 17 foul shots. Dontaie Allen added 14 points for the Wildcats, with Mintz and Askew kicking in 11 each.

Kentucky shot 81.3 percent from the line and turned it over just twice.

Scotty Pippen Jr. had 18 points, eight rebounds and eight assists for Vanderbilt (4-4, 0-2) while Dylan Disu added 18 points and 10 rebounds. Jordan Wright (18) and Myles Stute (16) also scored in double figures for the Commodores.

Vanderbilt has lost its last 12 in Rupp, and its last nine in the series with Kentucky.

Disu's 3 with 3:52 left tied the game at 70. Sarr blocked Disu's lay-up with 3:13 left on Vandy's next trip.

Sarr then missed both free throws on the Wildcats next possession, but stole the ball from Disu on Vanderbilt's trip and Mintz then hit two free throws.

Pippen drove the lane and hit the tying lay-up at 1:57 but missed the free throw after Sarr fouled him.

Disu fouled out with 1:17 left, and Allen hit the two ensuing charity tosses with Kentucky in the double bonus.

Sarr fouled out 14 seconds later, and Pippen canned both free throws, setting up Mintz's game-winner.

The Wildcats went on a 7-0 run to start the second half and tie the game at 40.

Vanderbilt answered with a five-point possession started by a Disu drive, lay-up and free throw following a Lance Ware foul. On the free throw, Ware elbowed Vandy's Stute in the throat, resulting in a Flagrant 1 foul and a pair of Stute free throws.

Kentucky responded with a quick 5-0 run punctuated by Askew's fast-break 3 with 15:53 to play.

Vanderbilt led 40-33 at halftime thanks to 8-of-17 3-point shooting and Pippen's 10 points, five rebounds and six assists.
