No. 3 Syracuse 68, St. John's 63: C.J. Fair and Tyler Ennis each scored 21 points as the Orange posted a road victory over their former Big East rival.

Jerami Grant scored all 14 of the bench points for Syracuse (10-0), which had not played in eight days and had not played a road game since early March. The Orange only had five players score, although they shot 54.5 percent as a team and limited the Red Storm to under 38 percent.

D'Angelo Harrison scored 21 points to pace St. John's (6-3), although he shot only 6-of-19 from the field. Rysheed Jordan chipped in 13 points for the Red Storm, who had won their previous two games.

After being limited to three points in last weekend's win over Binghamton, Ennis scored 13 points in the first half against the Red Storm to help Syracuse take a 39-27 lead into the break. St. John's finally caught up at 53-53 when Jordan was fouled on a 3-pointer and made each of the ensuing free throws, capping a 9-2 run.

The Orange trailed 60-58 with under five minutes to play before embarking on a 10-1 run that included four free throws and a jumper by Ennis and two baskets by Fair. Ennis finished 10-of-10 from the foul line, while the rest of his teammates combined to go 9-of-18, including a 3-of-7 effort from Fair.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Sophomore G Trevor Cooney, the second-leading scorer for the Orange, went scoreless, missing all three of his field goal attempts. ... The combined 3-point shooting of both teams was hideous, as Syracuse was 1-of-8 while St. John's went 1-of-15 from behind the arc. ... Grant had a two-handed blocked shot of JaKarr Sampson in the final minute to help seal the win.
