Bouncing back from an unexpected loss, No. 19 Florida closed the pre-Christmas portion of its schedule with a 66-55 home victory over Radford on Wednesday.
Erving Walker hit 5 of 8 3-pointers, finishing with 20 points for the Gators. Kenny Boynton finished with 11 and Chandler Parsons scored nine with nine rebounds.
The Gators (9-3) rebounded from an upset loss at home to Jacksonville on Monday despite shooting 39 percent from the field (23 of 58). Florida shot just 52 percent (11 of 21) from the free-throw line.
The Gators scored the game’s first nine points and led 15-3 eight minutes into the game on two Will Yeguete free throws.
The Highlanders played their way back within striking distance, pulling within 31-24 at halftime. Tolga Cerrah’s layup 13 seconds into the second half brought Radford within 31-26. But the Gators pulled away from there, going on a 14-2 run to build a 45-28 lead on Vernon Macklin’s free throw with 14:45 left.
Johnathan Edwards led Radford (2-9) with 15 points.
The Gators host Fairfield on Tuesday. Radford plays host to Dickinson College on Tuesday.
