Wake Forest’s poor season continues.
The Demon Deacons fell 81-69 to University of North Carolina-Wilmington on Sunday in Greensboro, N.C. The loss was their first in 13 games against the Seahawks and ends their three-game win streak.
Wake Forest falls to 5-4, while UNC-Wilmington is 4-4.
The Seahawks went 14-of-27 from 3-point range. Chad Tomko and Tanner Milson led UNC-Wilmington with 18 point apiece.
Senior Gary Clark led the Demon Deacons with 20 points in the losing effort. He went 4-for-6 from 3-point range with a career-high six rebounds. Ari Stewart and C.J. Harris also reached double digits in scoring for Wake Forest.
UNC-Wilmington led 45-35 at halftime and built a lead as big as 21 in the second half. It was able to withstand a poor performance from its bench, which provided just five points to Wake Forest’s 29.
