Junior point guard Verdell Jones III scored a game-high 27 points as host Indiana handled Wright State 67-44 on Sunday.
Verdell shot 11 of 14 from the field, hitting both of his 3-point tries, as the Hoosiers improved to 2-0. A poor defensive team last season, Indiana held the Raiders to 32.6 percent shooting (15 of 46).
Sophomore forward Christian Watford added 17 points for the Hoosiers, who led 30-19 at the half.
Wright State, of the Horizon League, fell to 0-1 despite 12 points from senior guard Vaughn Duggins.
The Hoosiers, expected to be much improved under third-year coach Tom Crean, host Mississippi Valley State on Tuesday, the third of five home games to start the season.
