Bobcats 91, Bulls 81: Kemba Walker scored 18 points and visiting Charlotte snapped its 18-game losing streak with a strong defensive effort.
Gerald Henderson added 16 and Ben Gordon chipped in 15 against his former team as the Bobcats (8-23) posted their first victory since Nov. 24 and finally surpassed their win total from last season. Ramon Sessions also had 15 points while Bismack Biyombo and Jeff Adrien combined for 21 rebounds to fill the void created by the absence of injured rookie Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (eye).
Luol Deng led the way with 20 points and 12 rebounds for Chicago, which has dropped three of four. Carlos Boozer addded 19 points and 14 rebounds as the Bulls shot just 35.1 percent and got just two points and four rebounds from Joakim Noah.
Charlotte never trailed but still had the lead threatened in the second half. The Bobcats opened a 12-point lead three minutes into the third quarter but were outscored 22-10 the rest of the quarter and made one basket over the final 5:51. Richard Hamilton's 19-foot jumper forged a 65-65 tie with 39.1 seconds left.
Charlotte scored the first 10 points of the fourth quarter but saw its lead dwindle to 82-75 on Boozer's layup with 2:28 to play. On the next possession, the Bobcats officially sealed the win 10 seconds later as Hakim Warrick dunked over Marco Belinelli and converted the free throw.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Adrien also scored nine points, coming within three of his career high. His 10 rebounds tied a personal best set on Nov. 21, 2010, in a road game against the Lakers. ... Chicago G Kirk Hinrich sat out with a knee injury and is day-to-day. ... The Bobcats are 7-4 when holding opponents under 100 points and posted the victory despite a 21-of-38 showing from the free throw line.
