76ers 95, Celtics 94 (OT): Evan Turner drained a 15-foot jumper with 3.9 seconds left in overtime to cap a season-high 26-point performance as Philadelphia won the opener of its home-and-home series with visiting Boston.
Thaddeus Young had 17 points and a team-high 12 rebounds and Jrue Holiday added 15 points before fouling out for the 76ers, who have won six of their last seven at home against the Celtics.
Paul Pierce matched a season high with 27 points and Rajon Rondo registered a triple-double, but he slipped while taking his last-second shot from the corner as time expired in overtime. Rondo finished with 16 points, 14 assists and a season-high 13 rebounds.
With Boston nursing a 94-93 edge, Turner dribbled in from half court before draining a jumper to send the Wells Fargo Center into a frenzy.
After missing an open putback, Kevin Garnett drained a 19-footer to tie the contest at 89-89 with 7.7 seconds left in regulation. Boston's defense forced a turnover, but Rondo's step-back jumper bounced off the back rim as time expired.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Rondo has recorded 10 regular-season triple-doubles in the last three campaigns. Miami's LeBron James is next on the list with five. ... Garnett tied Terry Porter for 17th all-time by playing in his 1,274th career game. ... Philadelphia improved to 10-0 when taking a lead into the fourth quarter.
