Warriors 106, Nuggets 105: David Lee collected 31 points and nine rebounds and Klay Thompson hit some big shots down the stretch en route to 21 points as host Golden State scraped by Denver.

The Nuggets had a chance to tie it with 3.7 seconds left when Andre Iguodala was fouled on a disputed 3-point attempt. He hit the first two free throws but missed the last chance and the ball caromed out of bounds to Denver twice in the final 2.1 seconds.

Iguodala caught the final inbounds pass and buried a 3-pointer, but replay determined that time had run out when the ball left his hands. Iguodala finished with 22 points, Danilo Gallinari scored 20 and Ty Lawson added 17 points and nine assists for the Nuggets.

Stephen Curry collected 20 points and 10 assists and Jarrett Jack scored 18 points off the bench, including a layup with 1:12 left that gave the Warriors a three-point edge.

Denver held a 91-83 lead with 10:10 to play but went the next 5:24 without a field goal as Golden State used an 11-2 burst and took the lead on Lee’s layup with 6:18 left. Iguodala hit two free throws to put the Nuggets back on top but Thompson responded with a jumper and the Warriors never trailed again.

Golden State came out strong in the first quarter, scoring the first six points of the game and extending the lead out to 17-5 on Thompson’s layup. But Denver cut the deficit to five points by the end of the period and dominated the second, getting nine points from Iguodala in the frame and outscoring Golden State 35-21 to take a 60-51 lead into the break.

Back-to-back 3-pointers from Lawson spread it out to as much as 73-57 early in the third before the Warriors began to claw their way back into the game.
