John Wall collected 25 points, eight assists and seven rebounds as the Washington Wizards snapped a four-game slide with a 105-102 victory over the visiting Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday.
The Thunder, who came in with the best record in the NBA, had a seven-game winning streak come to an end.
Nick Young scored 24 points and Jordan Crawford added 18 for the Wizards, who improved their NBA-worst record to 2-12
Washington used a 15-6 run bridging the third and fourth quarters to pull into a tie with the Thunder at 76-76. Andray Blatche hit a 3-pointer as the clock expired in the third - only his second of the season - and Wall provided a highlight with the tying bucket, when he took an alley-opp pass from Crawford and dunked in transition.
Oklahoma City took back the lead but the Wizards did not fold. Young’s 3-pointer with 7:24 left gave them their first lead of the second half.
Washington led by as much as 101-94 with 25 seconds left before Kevin Durant made things interesting with a 3-pointer and three free throws.
The Thunder had one last chance to force overtime but Durant missed a 3-point attempt as time expired.
Durant finished with 33 points and Russell Westbrook led with 36 for Oklahoma City.
