Seattle's Julio Rodriguez had two hits and an RBI but left the game in the eighth inning after reinjuring his right ankle. Rodriguez, who came off the injured list on Sunday, said postgame that he was "all good."

Seattle ended the scoreless deadlock in the fifth. Dylan Moore doubled with one out and scored on Jorge Polanco's two-out single to left.
The Mariners made it 2-0 in the eighth.

Luke Raley struck out against Shelby Miller and Mitch Haniger flied out, leaving the bases loaded.
Vierling had a two-out, ground-rule double against Yimi Garcia in the bottom of the inning. Carpenter then drilled a fastball over the right field wall to tie the score.
