David McCormack scored a season-high 20 points and Ochai Agbaji added 19 Tuesday as No. 6 Kansas used 56.5 percent shooting to scorch TCU 93-64 in Big 12 play at Fort Worth, Texas.
The Jayhawks (9-2, 3-1 Big 12), who were coming off a 25-point loss to Texas, their worst defeat since 1989, rediscovered their offensive might by expanding their lead to 20-plus points before three minutes had elapsed in the second half.
Kansas won its 11th straight Big 12 road game, tying a conference record the Jayhawks set from 2001-03. Kansas improved to 98-13 under coach Bill Self when coming off a loss.
With Marcus Garrett's string of 41 consecutive starts halted by an injury he suffered in the Texas game, Self provided extensive opportunities to reserve guards.
Tristan Enaruna responded by recording a career high before halftime and finished with 12 points. Dajuan Harris replaced Garrett in the starting lineup and led Kansas with a career-high seven assists.
Jalen Wilson contributed 16 points, eight boards and six assists. Kansas committed just eight turnovers and forged a 41-20 advantage on the boards.
Charles O'Bannon Jr. posted 18 points and six rebounds off the bench to lead TCU (9-3, 2-2), which had a five-game win streak snapped.
RJ Nembhard, the Big 12's leading scorer, added 14 points. Kevin Samuel had eight points but grabbed no rebounds after coming in as the only Big 12 player averaging a double-double. Mike Miles, a 14.8-point scorer, missed all eight of his attempts and did not score.
A 49-35 halftime cushion represented the largest lead of the first half for Kansas behind 10 points apiece from Enaruna and Agbaji. After suffering their worst shooting performance (31 percent) of the season against Texas, the Jayhawks shot 64.3 percent for the half, including 6 of 10 from deep.
The Jayhawks made five straight shots as part of a 12-1 run to go up 17-7, then expanded their margin with a 7-0 spree to make it 28-17.
O'Bannon, a Southern Cal transfer, and Nembhard netted 12 points apiece to lead TCU in the first half. The Frogs led only once in the game, at 7-5.
