Colin Wilson scored 1:45 into overtime as the Nashville Predators stunned the Columbus Blue Jackets 4-3 Thursday night.
The Predators appeared headed to their third straight loss but struck twice in the final 1:36 to force extra time. Patric Hornqvist made it a 3-2 game at 18:24 and Sergei Kostitsyn drew Nashville even with a redirection of Martin Erat's shot with just 12 seconds remaining.
Wilson emerged as the hero in overtime after one-timing an Erat feed past Columbus netminder Curtis Sanford to finish off a 2-on-1.
Jeff Carter opened the scoring on a bizarre goal with 7:18 left in the opening period. Carter whistled a wrist shot past Nashville goaltender Pekka Rinne, but the puck bounced hard off the back of the net and caromed back into play.
Officials in Toronto reviewed the play and awarded the goal after a delay of several minutes. It marks Carter's 10th point in seven career games against Nashville.
Antoine Vermette and Derek Dorsett had the other Columbus goals, while Mike Fisher scored in the second period for Nashville.
