Texas A&M 62, Missouri 50: Jalen Jones and Danuel House each scored 12 points in the second half as the host Aggies used a 22-2 spurt to shake off a sluggish first half.
Texas A&M (12-5, 3-2 SEC) shot 33.3 percent from the field in the first half but erased a 31-24 halftime deficit by hitting 12-of-23 shots from the field after intermission. Jones and House each finished with 16 points while Jones added nine rebounds as the Aggies dominated the backboards 37-24 to win their third in a row since a double-overtime home loss to No. 1 Kentucky.
Wes Clark scored a career-high 18 points – 12 in the first half – with six assists and five steals for the Tigers (7-11, 1-4), who made just 8-of-24 shots after halftime in losing their fourth straight contest. Johnathan Williams III added nine points and 10 rebounds.
Namon Wright’s 3-pointer 2 ½ minutes into the second half put Missouri ahead 36-29, but Jones’ jumper 20 seconds later ignited a 13-0 burst during which Jones scored seven points and House hit two triples. Williams temporarily stopped the onslaught with a jumper to bring the Tigers within 42-38 before Texas A&M ran off nine unanswered points, and Peyton Allen’s 3-pointer with 9 ½ minutes remaining pushed the Aggies advantage to 51-38.
Clark made 5-of-6 shots in the opening half as Missouri shot 52.2 percent from the field and hit 5-of-8 3-point attempts. Alex Caruso’s basket with 3 ½ minutes left in the half put the Aggies ahead 22-21 before the Tigers closed the period on a 10-2 run, with Clark hitting two 3-pointers during the surge as Missouri carried a seven-point lead into intermission.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Caruso, who scored seven of his 11 points in the second half, also collected four rebounds and three assists. … Texas A&M snapped a three-game losing streak to the Tigers. … Both teams finished 20-of-47 from the field.
