No.22 Massachusetts 73, Miami (Ohio) 65: Chaz Williams registered 18 points and eight assists as the Minutemen won another non-conference game against the visiting Red Hawks.

Maxie Esho had 15 points, seven rebounds and four assists off the bench and Cady Lalanne provided 12 points and six rebounds for the Minutemen (12-1). Trey Davis added 11 points, including three 3-pointers, in a reserve role and Raphiael Putney chipped in with eight points.

Will Felder put up 22 points and seven rebounds and Geovonie McKnight supplied 15 points, seven assists and five rebounds for the Red Hawks (4-7), who dropped to 1-6 on the road. Joshua Oswald managed 12 points and Quinten Rollins dished out a game-high nine assists to go with seven points.

The Minutemen started poorly, turning the ball over four times in the opening two minutes, but quickly righted the ship by holding the Red Hawks scoreless for more than four minutes in building an 11-4 advantage. Lalanne scored the next seven points and Williams provided the next eight for Massachusetts, which led by as many as nine points before settling on a 36-32 lead at halftime.

The second half started with the teams trading a pair of buckets before Massachusetts embarked on a 9-2 run aided by the Red Hawks committing five turnovers. Miami got to within six points on a Felder layup with less than three minutes left, but Sampson Carter and Williams countered for the Minutemen to seal the win.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Felder had 10 points in the first half to lead the Red Hawks, who shot 48.3 percent despite struggling from beyond the arc (1-of-7). ... The Minutemen shot 14-of-26, including 5-of-8 from 3-point range, and had 15 assists in the first half. ... Massachusetts finished 16-of-23 from the foul line and made 7-of-16 3-pointers.
