No. 2 Duke 73, No. 4 Ohio State 68: Senior Mason Plumlee had 21 points and 17 rebounds as the host Blue Devils stormed back to avenge last season’s 22-point loss in Columbus in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge.
Duke (7-0) extended its non-conference home win streak to 97 games despite going more than 10 minutes without a field goal in the first half. Duke trailed 31-23 at the break with its starting guards having gone 1-for-11 from the field.
But Rasheed Sulaimon scored all 17 of his points after halftime and Ryan Kelly hit back-to-back 3-pointers to put Duke on top 56-53 with 5:42 left. The Blue Devils would not relinquish the lead.
Ohio State (4-1) came in leading the nation in 3-point shooting at 48 percent, but hit 6-of-21 and shot 33.8 percent overall. Deshaun Thomas led the Buckeyes with 16 points while Aaron Craft and Lenzelle Smith Jr. added 11 apiece.
Duke notched its third win over a top four team, following victories over Kentucky and Louisville. The Blue Devils also got payback for last season's 85-63 loss at Ohio State.
