Ben Brust and Josh Gasser scored 14 points apiece as No. 14 Wisconsin opened its season with an 85-31 rout of visiting Kennesaw State.
The Badgers wasted little time taking control, scoring 13 straight points to grab a 16-3 advantage. Mike Bruesewitz hit a pair of 3-pointers during the run for Wisconsin, and the Badgers stretched their lead to 41-8 by halftime.
The opening 20 minutes were a nightmare for the Owls, who made just two of their first 22 shots. The Badgers, meanwhile, shot 58 percent on the day and made 15 of 25 attempts from long range.
Ryan Evans scored 13 points for the Badgers, who enjoyed a massive 41-20 rebounding edge.
Markeith Cummings led Kennesaw State with a game-high 18 points. The Owls finished the game with just two assists compared to the Badgers' 23.
