Joey Gallo spoiled Dylan Bundy's Southwest homecoming with a two-run home run Saturday night, sending the Texas Rangers to a 3-1 victory over the Baltimore Orioles in Arlington, Texas.

Left-hander Mike Minor (8-6), who couldn't get out of the third inning in a loss at Baltimore last month, won a pitchers' duel over Bundy after the Rangers had slugged their way to 17-8 and 11-3 victories in the first two games of the four-game series.

Bundy (7-10), the Gatorade National Athlete of the Year as a senior in 2011 at Owasso High near Tulsa, was making his first major-league start at the site about 250 miles from his childhood home.

He allowed seven hits in six innings, one being Gallo's home run that followed an error on Orioles third baseman Renato Nunez in the fourth inning.

Nunez became Baltimore's regular third baseman when shortstop Manny Machado was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers last month as Tim Beckham shifted from primarily playing third base to shortstop.

Gallo's blast to right field was his 29th homer of the season.

One of the two runs charged to Bundy was unearned. He walked two and struck out six.

Minor was even better, holding the Orioles to one run and four hits in seven innings. He struck out six and did not walk a batter.

Cory Gearrin pitched a scoreless eighth inning before Jose Leclerc worked a perfect ninth for his first save of the season.

Rougned Odor homered, his 13th of the season, leading off the eighth against Baltimore's second pitcher, Paul Fry, to complete the game's scoring.

Mark Trumbo drove in the Orioles' only run in the seventh with a single after Adam Jones had singled with one out and advanced to second on an infield out.

Odor and Isiah Kiner-Falefa collected two hits apiece for the Rangers, who have won seven of their last eight games. Their fourth win in six games clinched the season series over the Orioles.

Trumbo had two of five hits for Baltimore, which was out-hit by Texas 8-5.
