Stars 2, Canucks 0: Kari Lehtonen posted his 29th career shutout and Colton Sceviour scored a second-period goal as Dallas halted its four-game road losing streak.
Antoine Roussel added an empty-net goal for the Stars, who have outscored Vancouver 8-3 in two victories this season. Lehtonen turned aside 27 shots en route to his second blanking of 2014-15.
Eddie Lack made 27 saves for the Canucks, whose losing streak reached five games (0-4-1). Vancouver has scored two goals over its last three contests and a total of seven during its slide.
After a scoreless first period, Dallas got on the board early in the second during a 3-on-2 rush. Sceviour carried the puck down the left wing and slid a backhander from the bottom of the faceoff circle that went off the heel of Lack's glove and in at 2:53.
The Canucks held a 12-7 shot advantage in the third session but were unable to solve Lehtonen. Roussel sealed the victory by blocking Kevin Bieksa's point shot and beating the defenseman to the loose puck in the neutral zone before scoring into an empty net with 26 seconds remaining.
GAME NOTEBOOK: The Stars outshot the Canucks 17-4 in the second period. ... Dallas C Tyler Seguin, who leads the league with 23 tallies, had his four-game goal-scoring streak snapped while captain Jamie Benn saw his drought reach nine contests. ... Vancouver was shut out for the second time this campaign.
