DeMarr Langford Jr. scored 16 points, Quinten Post had 14 and Kanye Jones added 12 to lead Boston College to a 73-57 season-opening rout of visiting Dartmouth on Tuesday night in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
Makai Ashton-Langford scored all 10 of his points in the first half as the Atlantic Coast Conference's Eagles opened a 23-point lead.
Boston College shot 49 percent (25 of 51) overall, including 7 of 18 (38.9 percent) from 3-point range.
Taurus Samuels and Brendan Barry each scored 10 points for the Big Green, which played its first game in 20 months. The Ivy League canceled the 2020-21 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Eagles scored the game's first seven points and never trailed. Boston College, which shot 57.7 percent (15 of 26) in the first 20 minutes, closed the first half with a 6-0 run to open a 42-19 cushion.
Dartmouth went on a 7-0 run -- two baskets by Cam Krystkowiak (nine points overall) and a 3-pointer from Garrison Wade (eight points) -- to get within 48-34 with 12:31 left.
The Eagles responded by scoring 12 straight points. The closest the Big Green got in the final 8:44 was 16 points.
Dartmouth sank just 2 of 14 from 3-point range in the first half.
Boston College had a significant edge in free throw opportunities, making 16 of 25 (64 percent), while Dartmouth was only slightly better by percentage at 69.2 percent, but had only 13 opportunities, making nine.
Boston College improved to 23-8 all-time in the series, dating back to 1904-05. The Eagles have won the last eight meetings.
The Eagles will host Holy Cross on Friday, while Dartmouth remains on the road to face Georgetown on Saturday.
