Carr's layup with 8:51 left made it 56-42. Robbins' 3-pointer with seven minutes to go stretched the Golden Gophers' lead to 61-44.

Minnesota led by as much as 12 in the first half and emerged with a 30-23 halftime advantage.

Turnovers were a major factor, as the Wolverines committed 11 while the Gophers had just three.

Minnesota misfired on all 11 of its 3-point attempts during the half but Michigan wasn't much better, going 2-for-9 from long range. No player on either side had more than six points at the break.
