Tyrell Terry had 20 points and 11 rebounds and Stanford scored the game's first 17 points and never trailed in an impressive 73-54 thumping of Oklahoma Monday night in the Hall of Fame Classic at Kansas City, Mo.
Spencer Jones added four 3-pointers and 13 points, and Bryce Wills scored 10 points for the Cardinal (7-0). Stanford, picked 10th in the Pac-12 preseason poll, hasn't allowed more than 65 points in a game this year.
Austin Reaves scored 17 points for the Sooners (5-1). Alondes Williams added 12 points and Brady Manek had 10 points for Oklahoma, which made only 37.7 percent of its shots and was 4 of 17 on 3-point attempts at the Sprint Center.
Wills' jump hook 29 seconds into the game set an instant tone. Oscar Da Silva drilled a 3-pointer at the 17:07 for a 10-0 advantage, forcing Sooners coach Lon Kruger to call a timeout before his team scored.
By the time Reaves canned a jumper with 14:23 remaining in the first half, Oklahoma was down 15. Although the Sooners responded with a 10-0 run, they couldn't put any more pressure on Stanford. The Cardinal was simply too tough defensively.
Da Silva's layup with 7:20 remaining in the half restored a 15-point lead at 28-13. Even when Williams knocked down a short jumper in the final minute, the Sooners still trudged to the locker room down 37-24 at halftime.
The margin stayed in double figures for the entire second half, and surpassed 20 for the first time when Wills converted a driving layup with 8:30 left for a 60-39 advantage. Stanford pushed the cushion as high as 24 points in the final 5 1/2 minutes.
The Cardinal will face Butler, a 63-52 winner over Missouri in the first semifinal, for the tournament title on Tuesday night.
