Stanford 66, Northern Iowa 50: Chasson Randle scored 21 points as the Cardinal broke things open in the second half to defeat the Panthers in a consolation game at the Battle 4 Atlantis in the Bahamas.
Andy Brown and John Gage each came off the bench and chipped in 15 and 10 points, respectively, as Stanford (4-2) snapped a two-game slide.
With the score tied at 30-30 at intermission, Randle and Gage combined to score the first eight points of the second half as Northern Iowa (3-2) managed just one field goal over the first 5:27. It marked the second time in as many games it suffered a long dry spell coming out of the break.
Although the Panthers closed to within 49-45 on a free throw from Jake Koch with 8:32 remaining, Randle drained one of his three second-half 3-pointers to spark an 11-2 run over the next 4:03 to give Stanford a double-digit bulge it would not relinquish.
Koch led the Panthers with 12 points.
