Eighth-ranked Florida rebounded from its first loss of the year, using a 15-4 first-half run to take control in a 91-55 home victory over North Florida on Thursday.
Kenny Boynton scored 20 points to lead the Gators (2-1), who lost 81-74 Tuesday at No. 3 Ohio State.
Starting with Boynton’s 3-pointer four minutes into the first half, the Gators scored 15 of the next 19 points, turning an 8-5 lead into a 23-9 advantage. Boynton scored eight points during the run, and freshman Brad Beal’s dunk off a Boynton assist gave Florida the 14-point advantage with nine minutes left in the first half.
Florida scored 21 of the first 27 points of the second half. Erving Walker finished with 19 points, Mike Rosario added 15 points, and Beal scored 12 points with 10 rebounds.
Parker Smith led the Ospreys (1-2) with 17 points.
The Gators play Wright State on Monday in Tampa. North Florida travels Saturday to Miami (Fla.).
