Indians 19, White Sox 10 (Game 1): Ryan Raburn homered and drove in four as visiting Cleveland overcame a five-run deficit in the first inning to outslug Chicago in the opener of a doubleheader.

Drew Stubbs drove in three runs and every starter except Mark Reynolds (1-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI) recorded at least two hits for the Indians, who lost starter Trevor Bauer to ineffectiveness before the end of the first inning. Matt Albers (2-0) worked 2 1/3 innings to grab the win as one of six relievers.

White Sox starter Hector Santiago was only marginally better than Bauer and went 2 1/3 frames, surrendering five runs on seven hits. Adam Dunn, Jeff Keppinger and Tyler Flowers each homered for Chicago, which has dropped nine of its last 13 games.

The White Sox looked primed to run away with it in the first inning, getting homers from Dunn and Keppinger in a five-run outburst. Cleveland came right back with five in the next half-inning on Stubbs’ two-run single, a two-run double from Jason Kipnis and Nick Swisher’s RBI single.

The Indians put together a six-run outburst to take control in the fourth, with Raburn delivering a two-run single to get things started and Stubbs capping the uprising with an RBI triple. Cleveland tacked on three more runs in the fifth to knock out reliever Brian Omogrosso (0-2), who was charged with nine runs on as many hits in 2 1/3 frames.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Indians became the first team to have at least seven players record two or more RBIs (Stubbs, Kipnis, Swisher, Raburn, Yan Gomes, Lonnie Chisenhall and Mike Aviles) in the same game since the Colorado Rockies on July 30, 2010. … Cleveland will start Carlos Carrasco, who has averaged five innings in three major-league starts this season, against Chicago’s Jose Quintana - an average of just over 5 2/3 innings in 15 turns - in Game 2. … White Sox OF Casper Wells pitched the ninth, becoming the first position player to take the mound for Chicago since Dewayne Wise last season. Wells was the only Chicago pitcher to retire Kipnis, who ran his hitting streak to 10 games.
