Diamondbacks 9, Athletics 8: Ryan Roberts belted a three-run walk-off homer in the ninth inning as host Arizona erased an early six-run deficit to post its fifth win in six games.
After recording two quick outs, Chris Young walked and Aaron Hill singled to set the stage in the ninth. Roberts then deposited an offering from Brian Fuentes (2-2) over the wall in left center to end the game.
The blast gave the victory to J.J. Putz (1-3), who struck out two in one inning of work.
Paul Goldschmidt belted his sixth homer in 10 games and Jason Kubel launched a two-run shot and drove in three for the Diamondbacks.
Seth Smith blasted a two-run homer and made a sensational leaping catch to thwart Aaron Hill's bid in the second inning.
Brandon Inge and Josh Reddick collected three hits and an RBI single apiece in a six-run second inning. Oakland starter Tommy Milone had a two-run single, Cliff Pennington and Coco Crisp ripped RBI doubles and Inge recorded his second multi-hit inning of the week during the uprising.
