White Sox 6, Twins 0: Chris Sale allowed two hits in seven innings and Paul Konerko and Alex Rios homered to lead Chicago to a rare home victory.
Konerko scored three runs and had three hits, including his 405th career homer, as the White Sox improved to 3-6 in their last nine home games and 7-14 at U.S. Cellular Field in 2012. Konerko is 5-for-8 in two contests since returning to the lineup after he was beaned by the Cubs' Jeff Samardzija on Friday and missed two games.
A.J. Pierzynski and Alejandro De Aza added two hits apiece for Chicago. Sale (5-2) struck out six.
Scott Diamond (3-1) yielded five runs - two earned - and nine hits in six innings for the Twins, who fell to 5-2 on their road trip and 18-6 in their last 24 games at Chicago.
The White Sox took a 1-0 lead in the first on Adam Dunn's RBI single and stretched the advantage to 3-0 when Rios delivered his two-run blast with Konerko aboard in the fourth.
Pierzynski doubled home Konerko in the sixth and Orlando Hudson's RBI groundout three batters later put Chicago ahead 5-0. Konerko delivered a long home run down the left field line in the seventh.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Hudson started his first game for the White Sox and played third base. Prior to entering Tuesday's game in the eighth inning, he had logged 1,268 career contests, all at second base. Regular 3B Brent Morel was placed on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday with a back injury. ... The Twins had scored 44 runs in their first six games of the trip. ... Despite its recent success, Minnesota still has the worst record in the American League (15-28).
