Raptors 104, Hornets 97 (OT): DeMar DeRozan scored 30 points and Kyle Lowry added 17 in his return from a triceps injury as Toronto prevailed over host New Orleans.
The Hornets erased a 13-point fourth-quarter deficit, but had no answer for Toronto in the extra period. While New Orleans missed its first four shot attempts, Lowry made an uncontested jumper with just over three minutes remaining to put the Raptors ahead by four, then knocked down a 3-pointer from the left corner 1:19 later that effectively put the game away.
Lowry added eight assists in his first game since Dec. 10 while Alan Anderson chipped in 16 points as Toronto won for the sixth time in seven games.
Rookie Anthony Davis paced the Hornets with 25 points - three off his career high - while Greivis Vasquez racked up 20 points, 14 assists and nine rebounds. Ryan Anderson contributed 17 points, including the game-tying 3-pointer with eight seconds left in regulation that bounced off both sides of the rim before falling in.
Leading 70-64 entering the fourth, the Raptors extended the lead to 13 on a DeRozan 16-footer with 5:50 remaining. The Hornets countered with an 8-0 run capped by an Anderson 3-pointer from the left sideline, then made it a one-possession game on a Vasquez driving layup with 51 seconds left.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Toronto had just two turnovers in the opening half, both coming on offensive fouls. ... Davis gave New Orleans fans plenty to cheer about in the fourth quarter. The No. 1 pick in the 2012 draft converted an alley-oop dunk on Vasquez's 11th assist of the night, then hit an acrobatic layup on the front end of a three-point play with just over five minutes remaining. ... Vasquez had six of the Hornets' 16 turnovers.
