Ducks 4, Maple Leafs 0: Corey Perry registered his eighth career hat trick in natural fashion and Frederik Andersen posted his second NHL shutout as host Anaheim snapped its six-game losing streak against Toronto.

Kyle Palmieri scored in his second straight contest for the Ducks, who improved to 5-2-0 on their season-high eight-game homestand. Captain Ryan Getzlaf set up a pair of goals and Andersen made 28 saves while also notching his third assist of the campaign.

Jonathan Bernier turned aside 21 shots for the Maple Leafs, who have begun their four-game road trip by being shut out in consecutive contests. Toronto, which has been blanked a total of four times this season, suffered a 2-0 loss at Los Angeles on Monday.

Perry gave the Ducks a 2-0 lead at 5:32 of the second period, when his shot from the top of the left faceoff circle deflected off the skate of Toronto blue-liner Cody Franson in front. The former Hart Trophy winner expanded the advantage nine minutes later by beating Bernier to the glove side on a breakaway and scored into an empty net late in the third to complete his league-leading third hat trick of the season.

The Ducks cashed in on a 5-on-3 power play to open the scoring as Palmieri beat Bernier high to the glove side from the right circle with 7:19 remaining in the first period. The puck entered and exited the net so fast, play continued and defenseman Hampus Lindholm ripped a shot past the goaltender from the top of the slot four seconds later, but Palmieri was awarded the goal after video review.
