Kings 3, Oilers 0: Martin Jones made 24 saves to remain perfect in his NHL career as host Los Angeles posted its seventh win in eight games.
Dwight King and Jordan Nolan scored for the Kings, who have outscored Edmonton 5-1 in winning the first two meetings of the season. Captain Dustin Brown added an empty-net goal for his 400th career point and Jones registered his third shutout in improving to 6-0-0 in the NHL.
Ilya Bryzgalov turned aside 37 shots for the Oilers, who were shut out for the second time over the first three contests of their four-game road trip. Edmonton has been outscored 10-2 on its trek, which concludes Thursday at Colorado.
King gave Jones all the offensive support he needed with 3:22 remaining in the first period. Doughty received a feed from Jeff Carter and skated down the slot before making a backhand pass to King, who slid the puck under Bryzgalov from the right side of the crease for his ninth goal.
Nolan added insurance with 4:38 left in the third, beating Bryzgalov from the left faceoff circle during a partial breakaway. Brown sealed the win with 40 seconds to play as he gained possession after exiting the penalty box and scored into an empty net.
