Ducks 5, Islanders 2: Corey Perry tallied twice to extend his career-high goal-scoring streak to six games as Anaheim handed reeling New York its 10th consecutive loss both overall (0-8-2) and on the road.

Defenseman Cam Fowler collected a goal and two assists while Andrew Cogliano netted his third goal in two contests for the Ducks, who have won three in a row to improve to 6-1-2 in their last nine games. Saku Koivu also tallied, Jonas Hiller turned aside 35 shots and captain Ryan Getzlaf notched an assist to extend his point streak to 14 games.

Captain John Tavares scored a power-play goal and Thomas Vanek also tallied for the Islanders, who haven't won since posting a 5-4 shootout victory over Detroit on Nov. 16.

With his team down a skater, Fowler gave Anaheim a 3-2 lead with 33 seconds remaining in the middle session by backhanding the rebound of Matt Beleskey's shot past Anders Nilsson (26 saves) following a 3-on-1 rush. The short-handed tally was the first of Fowler's career.

Perry doubled the advantage with two seconds left in the period despite being tripped up by New York defenseman Calvin de Haan. The former Hart Trophy winner kept his wits and wristed a shot while on his knees in the slot which caromed off Islanders blue-liner Travis Hamonic and into the net. Perry added a power-play goal at 7:40 of the third for his 20th tally of the season.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Perry's six-game goal streak matches Tampa Bay's Steven Stamkos and St. Louis' Alex Steen for the longest in the NHL this season. ... Fowler's short-handed goal was the first by a Ducks defenseman since Sean O'Donnell tallied versus Detroit on Oct. 15, 2007. ... Tavares cleanly won an offensive-zone draw and Vanek's quick release from the slot handcuffed Hiller to give New York a 2-1 lead at 4:17 of the second period. Cogliano knotted it up nearly 8 1/2 minutes later, tapping in a brilliant no-look, behind-the-back pass from LW Daniel Winnik, who had a career-high three assists.
