Ducks 3, Blue Jackets 2: Captain Ryan Getzlaf had a goal and an assist to help host Anaheim win its fifth game in a row.
Jonas Hiller looked solid in his first start in five games, finishing with 25 saves. Corey Perry scored a power-play goal for his fourth point in three games, while rookie Peter Holland scored his first of the season for Anaheim, which has nine wins in its last 10 games.
Vinny Prospal opened the scoring with his fifth goal of the season and Derick Brassard added a third-period goal for the Blue Jackets, who have lost their last six road games. Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 26 shots.
After Prospal opened the scoring, Holland jumped out of the penalty box and took a breakaway pass from Bobby Ryan, snapping a quick shot over Bobrovsky’s right pad. On the next shift, Getzlaf created a turnover in the Blue Jackets’ zone and drove to the net, kicking a rebound to his stick and wrapping a shot around a sprawling Bobrovsky.
Getzlaf set up Perry down low during a power play midway through the third period and Perry deked Bobrovsky off the near post before chipping in a backhand to make it 3-1. The Ducks finished 2-for-3 with the man advantage.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Hiller’s last win came on Feb. 2 against the Los Angeles Kings. … Four of Anaheim’s five straight victories have come by one goal and three were decided in a shootout. … Columbus has one win in its last seven games.
