Anze Kopitar scored at 4:04 of overtime, leading the Los Angeles Kings to a 3-2 home victory over the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday.
Justin Williams and rookie defenseman Alec Martinez each recorded a goal and an assist, Kopitar also set up a tally and Jonathan Quick made 27 saves for the Kings, who have won three straight meetings with the Red Wings.
With time running down in overtime, Martinez broke up a pass in the defensive zone and captain Dustin Brown led a rush down the left wing. Brown carried the puck over the blue line and made a cross-ice pass to Kopitar, who beat Chris Osgood from the right faceoff circle for his 10th goal of the season.
Defenseman Jonathan Ericsson opened the scoring with 4 1/2 minutes remaining in the first period, slapping a rebound past Quick to put Detroit in front. Williams drew Los Angeles even with a deflection 24 seconds into the second, but Todd Bertuzzi restored the lead for the Red Wings just 48 seconds later with his fifth goal of the campaign.
Martinez again knotted the game at 7:18, beating Osgood with a shot from the left point that deflected off a defender for his second tally.
Osgood stopped 22 shots in his first game since Oct. 30 for the Red Wings, who had their four-game winning streak snapped.
